The Ray Hubbard Bass Club held our annual Open tournament on Saturday April 22nd on Lake Ray Hubbard. 31 boats came out to fish on a near perfect weather day. especially for spring time. Being true to her nature, Mother Hubbard punished most of the participants for fishing on a good weather day with tough fishing. Only 8 teams brought five fish limits to the scales. Some good fish were weighed in but no giants. When we were buttoned up for the day, the team of Chris Atkinson and myself proved blind squirrels find an acorn once in a while and won with a limit that weighed 20,20 pounds. Big bass of the tournament went to Jay and Garrett Browne with a 6.28 hawg.
Thanks to everyone that came out and fished with us. Thanks to Chris Atkinson, Eugene McBride, Tyler Austin and Peter Husser for getting people registered and livewells checked in the morning. Thanks to Garrett Browne for keeping the money right. Thanks again to Tyler, Eugene and Chris along with Jay Browne for helping with weigh in in the afternoon and Chandlers for hosting our event. The next RHBC tournament is on Eagle Mountain on Saturday May 13th. The next Open tournament will be the 8th Annual Fish For A Cure back at Ray Hubbard on Sunday October 29th. Please come out and help raise money for the American Cancer Society!
