Saturday & Sunday, November 10-11, 2018 – Lake O’ The Pines
The Ray Hubbard Bass Club finished out the 2018 season with our annual 2 day Club Championship November 10-11 on beautiful Lake O The Pines. Our Championship is a no entry fee reward for those that qualify for fishing 5 or more members only tournaments during the year and participating in at least one community event. There was one word to describe the weather conditions. COLD! Saturday was clear and cold with a strong wind blowing that made it worse. Sunday was not as windy, but there was cloud cover all day so getting comfortable was not in the cards. The drastically dropping temperatures affected the fishing and getting bites was pretty tough. Consistency was key over the two days and proving that were most of the teams that collected checks at the top. When weigh in was over on Sunday, the team of Garrett Macias and Bobby Finta weighed a two day total of 29.79 pounds to take home the win. Big bass was paid out both days. Kelly Langhorne and Jeremy Collins got the prize on Saturday with a 5.69, and Preston Smith and David Horton got it on Sunday with a 5.11.
