Tyler Holmes and Cooper Phillips claim victory over 71 boat field at 2023 Fish For A Cure with 22.25 pounds!
The Ray Hubbard Bass Club in association with the American Cancer Society held our Eight Annual Fish For A Cure on Saturday November 4th. The event had to be postponed from its original date because of bad weather. As someone who puts on this event, this was not an easy decision. People make plans. Deer season was opening. There were some sleepless hours wondering if we did the right thing. Tournament day dawned chilly but beautiful, with lots of sunshine and mild temperatures and the fisherman laid all my fears to rest. 71 boats came out to fish with us! Fishing was moderately tough. Mother Hubbard as we call her, punishes the fishermen and women for good weather it has always seemed. That being said, the winning team of Tyler Holmes and Cooper Phillips still weighed a giant bag of 22.25 pounds to take home top prize. Big Bass of the event went to the team of Jeremy Thomison and Toby Lewis with a 9.30 Ray Hubbard monster! Here are full results and pictures. I apologize in advance. I wish I knew everyone by sight. I’ll identify as many as I can. It’s a good problem to have! A few quick thank yous. Thank you to Larry Ladnier of Victory Fishing for volunteering his time and equipment to be the Tournament Director of our event. Great job as always! Thanks to Chris Atkinson and his band of RHBC Volunteers running Live Well checks and directing traffic coming in to the Marina. Thanks to Shellye Crawford and all the ladies manning the ticket/t-shirt booth getting everyone through there in a timely fashion and with a smile on their face. Mostly thanks to everyone that came out and participated and made FFAC 2023 our most successful year ever!
