Keith Taylor and Chadd Dearen top monster 83 boat FFAC field on Ray Hubbard with 24.40 pounds!
The Ray Hubbard Bass Club held our Ninth Annual Fish For A Cure Bass Tournament on Sunday October 27th on Lake Ray Hubbard. All proceeds from the event are donated to the American Cancer Society. It was a strange weather day. We figured the sun would come out and warm things up early but low clouds and fog and a damp wind held on until almost 11:00. From what I heard from the anglers, this helped the fishing which was pretty good. Mother Hubbard has a reputation for being tough when the weather is good but fortune shined on a lot of boats on Sunday because they caught em good! We had 83 boats come out to fish which is a post covid high! Thank you everyone that came out! When weigh in was buttoned up, the team of Keith Taylor and Chadd Dearen came out on top with a monster bag of 24.40 pounds! Big Bass went to the team of Hector De La Garza and Chad Grace who had an 8.63 monster! It took 19 pounds to get a check! Great fishing!
So many people to than for the success of this event! Thanks to the Texas Fishing Forum and Brian Hughes with Texas Fishing and Outdoors Radio for helping us to promote our event! Thanks to our sponsors both businesses and individuals. This would not be possible without them. Thanks to Kay Franklin and Bryan Sherwood from the American Cancer Society. Thank you to our Tournament Director Larry Ladnier who does such a great job and does not accept a dime. Thanks to my brothers and sisters of the Ray Hubbard Bass Club who work alongside me every step of the way and show up both on and off the water to make things run as smoothly as a tournament can possibly run. Thank you to everyone who came out to fish with us. You are awesome! And thank you to my wife and family for your love and support. Thanks to all of you we raised over $65,000.00 for the fisht against cancer! Amazing! We’ll see you on Sunday October 26th, 2025 for our Tenth Fish For A Cure!
