The Ray Hubbard Bass Club held our first tournament of 2024 on Saturday February 10th on Lake Palestine. It was warm for February and we got through registration and the first hour of fishing before the sky opened up on us. It rained steady for the next 7 hours with a couple heavy downpours. No lightning around luckily and fishing was decent. I think the weather kept some people at home but we had 28 boats on the water. When everyone had weighed in the team of Jeremy McLeroy and Tm Clark won the day with an outstanding bag of 20.91 pounds! Their catch included the second largest fish in RHBC history, and 11.32 monster that took home big bass honors.
Thanks to everyone that came out and got wet! Thanks to the nice people at Lake Palestine Resort who take great care of us! Thanks to Chris Atkinson for doing live well checks. Thanks to Eugene McBride and Tyler Austin for doing weigh in and to Garrett Browne for keeping the money straight. Next on the calendar is Lake Bob Sandlin on Saturday March 9th! Meeting will be on WEDNESDAY March 6th at the Flying Fish. See you there!
