Saturday, July 13th, 2019 – Lake Lavon
The Ray Hubbard Bass Club held our sixth members only tournament on Saturday, July 13th on Lake Lavon. The weather was as good as you could ask for in July. Hot but not ridiculous with a good wind to help keep it comfortable. 41 boats came out on what turned out to be a pretty tough fishing day. The lake was just stablizing after weeks of the gates being open and the fish were still settling in to their summer routine. At the end of the day, the team of Mark Calhoun and Keith Green ignored all that and whacked a giant bag weighing 21.60 with a kicker fish of 5.67. Vince Burt and Jamie Norris brought big bass to the scales with a 7.71 giant.
Thanks to Russell Olds and Matt Jackson for doing the early registration with great humor and energy. Thanks to Paul Spann for being the weigh master and his partner Bill Gammons for recording weights. Thanks to Cameron Laing for keeping the money straight. Thanks to everyone who came out and fished. Our next RHBC tournament is Saturday August 10th at Cedar Creek Lake going out of Log Cabin. Hope to see you there!
