The Ray Hubbard Bass Club in association with the American Cancer Society held our 10th Annual Fish For A Cure last Sunday October 26th on Lake Ray Hubbard. The Lord blessed as he has so many times with outstanding weather. Cloudy and cool in the morning with some fog that seemed to roll in after most of the teams had already reached their starting spot. The day ended in bright sunshine and warm temps.

I had a good feeling about this year and I was rewarded by the support of 88 teams on the water with us. That’s our highest turnout since COVID. Mother Hubbard cooperated as well with 55 of the 88 teams bringing a 5-fish limit to the scales and plenty of 6 and 7 pounders!

When our day was over, the team of Tyler Holmes and Justin Tunnell won with a huge bag of 24.18 pounds! Big Bass of the event want to the second place team of Chris Moore and Jeff Butcher with a 7.72 pound beast.

A huge thank you to Kay Franklin and Bryan Sherwood from the American Cancer Society for being there and lending a helping hand. Thank you to so many sponsors we had a hard time fitting them on the shirts! Thank you to Brian Hughes and the Texas Fishing and Outdoors radio show and J.P. Geason and the Texas Fishing Forum to allow us to promote FFAC! Thank you to everyone who supports this great event by showing up and donating your hard earned money to such a worthy cause! Thank you to my brothers and sisters with the Ray Hubbard Bass Club. You have all truly made this event your own and it shows! Thank you to my wife Ali, my family, and all my friends for your support this year.

We raised over $82,000 this year! Another new Fish For A Cure record. We’ll see you on Sunday, October 25th, 2026 and try and do it all over again.
