2 men in tshirts and caps hold up 2 bass in front of lakeThe Ray Hubbard Bass Club held our sixth members only tournament of 2025 on Saturday July 12th on Lake Ray Hubbard. We tried new summer hours for the first time with a lines in at 6:00 AM and lines out at 12:00 PM to get both people and fish off the water before the heat got crazy. It was a nice day for July. Persistent cloud cover and even a couple showers helped keep the temperature down, but the wind was blowing early and got worse as the day went on. 29 boats came out to fish and 13 teams weighed a 5 fish limit so fishing was decent although big bags were scarce. Winning was the team of Keith Taylor and Chadd Dearen who weighed a limit of 16.50 pounds. Big bass of the tournament went to Preston Smith and David Horton with a 6.14 toad.

Thanks to the team of Hector De La Garza and Chad Grace for doing registration. Thanks to Eugene McBride and Tyler Austin for running weigh in and thanks to Garrett Browne for keeping the money straight.

Next up is our second summer hours tournament on Saturday August 9th on Lake Tawakoni. The meeting will be on Tuesday August 5th if you want to join us to fish that one. Hope to see you there!
