The Ray Hubbard Bass Club held our second members only tournament of 2025 last Saturday March 8th, on Lake O’ The Pines. The weather was less than favorable. Cold, windy and off and on rain. Only one brief stop down for the tail end of a thunderstorm that went over. We still had 26 boats come out in those conditions and fishing was very good for most. 16 limits were brought to the scales and some big ones were caught too with three over 7 pounds! When all was said and done the team of Michael and Mike Parkes came out on top with a great bag of 21.51 pounds. Their margin of victory was only .03 pounds! Big bass of the tournament was a 7.78 toad weighed in by Vince Burt and Damon Machost.
Thanks to Hector De La Garza and Chad Grace for doing registration and check in. Thanks to Eugene McBride and Tyler Austin for doing a very efficient job at weigh in with a steady rain falling. Thanks to Garrett Browne for keeping the money straight. Thanks to everyone that braved the weather and came out to fish with us! Next up is Lake Texoma on Saturday April 12th. We’re going out of the dam ramp. If you would like to join us for that and are not yet a member, please attend the meeting on Tuesday April 8th at Flying Fish in Garland. See you there!
